Aging Gracefully
“Live Your Life And Forget Your Age”
~Norman Vincent Peale
Aging Gracefully, Purposeful Aging
Aging gracefully is about being purposeful. Living a life filled with purpose, is what keeps us young. There is so much joy available in life, but most people get caught up in what they think they are supposed to be or do. Aging gracefully means you need to treat yourself well both mentally and physically.
Aging is a natural part of living. And yet, so many of us fight this inevitably. We somehow perceive our youth as the time of excitement, ambition, and hope. But what many do not realize is with age comes experience, wisdom, and perspective.
Live Life With Intention
When you live life with intention and grace, growing older can be a wonderful and enriching experience. And contrary to popular belief, aging is a beautiful thing. You have to remember not to get caught up in your thoughts. Do not think about age, do not act, or talk age. Rather, be ageless.
While we may be ordinary people, we have the power to create extraordinary change. Get out of your comfort zone. Be curious and open to exploring the unknown. Learn to embrace every moment, and challenge yourself everyday.
Shape Your Perception Of Life…
A wise novelist Aldous Huxley once said, there are things known and things unknown, and in between are the doors of perception! Remember, learning is not just for the young. And, curiosity is not just for kids. An open curious mind is crucial for aging gracefully. By keeping an open mind and exploring what is possible, age is no longer shaping your perception of life.
Age Is Just A Number
Age is just a number, to which we have attached great significance. Somehow, we have given more meaning to our age than we should. So we let a number control our life. The truth is, age does not define us, or our destiny, because it is not our age that counts, but our attitude.
Feed Your Mind, Body, and Soul…
No matter how old you are, feeding your body with things that will nourish and support it is important. In other words, to feel strong and well supported as you age, it requires you to take care of yourself! Remember you are unique. So is your body. Make sure you take time to explore the foods that nourish you and give you energy.
And remember, spirituality is the essential piece of the aging process. Religious or not, spirituality is a driving force in our lives. It brings an interconnectedness to who we are, and the world around us. Thus, feeding our soul in a way that gives us clarity of mind and purpose.
Explore what excites you!
Use curiosity to open your mind and explore what is possible beyond what you could have ever imagined. There are no rules that say you can only be adventurous in your youth. Life is meant to be an adventure! So, treat it as such. And most of all, treat yourself to exploring all of the things you wanted to try for the rest of your life!
