Finding Peace

Finding Peace

“Peace is not the absence of chaos or conflict, but rather finding yourself in the midst of that chaos and remaining calm in your heart.”

~John Mroz

Our New Normal

As unrest grows across our country, and the reality of our new normal continues to set in, it’s easy to feel uncertain. But, there is hope in the midst of chaos and that is, finding peace within. While it will not change the current circumstances, what it will change is our perspective. As Dr. Wayne Dyer so eloquently explained, “Peace is the result of retraining your mind to process life as it is, rather than as you think it should be.” Meaning, peace begins when you are unaffected by outside circumstances.

We are living in stressful times, and it is times like these that we need to let go of our need for control and predictability. Especially now at a time when the rules are changing daily. Although it can be difficult to find inner peace and balance in these times of stress, never underestimate the power of resilience. And, never underestimate the power of perception. In light of the very real circumstances we are all facing, we wanted to offer you some words of hope, comfort and peace.

Finding Your Inner Peace

Inner peace is a delicate thing, and it can often be thrown off balance by the chaos of daily life. The reality is, there is no magic cure for what is going on in the world, nor is there a panacea for the anxiety that goes along with it. But when it comes to finding peace in this or any situation, not allowing your emotions to be ruled by the circumstances that surround you is key. Finding peace really comes down to recognizing the things that led to unpleasant experiences and emotions. And, once you have, rework the way you view them, approach them, and react to them.

Perspective (Perception)

For better or for worse, the mind and its whirlwind of thoughts have amazing creative power. Our thoughts propel and or compel us to react, respond, or retreat. In doing so, we either find ourselves at peace or affected. Everyday we face challenging situations and decisions. Whether it be regarding work, our current circumstances, money or relationships, they create stress in our lives. And, changing your perspective towards these things can make all the difference. That’s because, perception is reality. In fact, how we see something becomes the truth in our lives, which sometimes, can be self-limiting. It is like changing the way you view the world. When you change your view of the world, you change how you feel about it.
